Systems Analysis
Certification Training
Are you in the computer technology field,
but want to find a better paying job? Are
you looking for something that is
interesting and will allow you to work
with cutting edge technology? If so, you
should look into a career in systems
analysis. Most every company has some sort
of computer system set up. These systems
perform a number of functions, such as
customer relationship management, supply
chain management, or just basic account
management, for example. Often, employees
depend on these computer systems to do
their daily work. A systems analyst either
works within these companies to ensure
that all systems work properly each day,
or they work for consulting firms that
help set up computer systems for client
companies. System analysts are integral to
a company's success, and thus assume a lot
of responsibility.
Qualifications for Entry
Systems analysts generally need at least a
bachelor's degree in computer science or
information system management. Throughout
a degree program, students are introduced
to a variety of common system
architectures and platforms so that they
are prepared to work within a number of
different environments upon graduation.
Students will also take some basic
programming classes, along with other
computer science related courses. Systems
analysts need excellent verbal and written
communication skills. They need to have
the unusual combination of strong
interpersonal skills and business sense,
combined with a thorough understanding of
technology. Typical responsibilities
include system requirements gathering,
data diagramming, specification writing,
and training of end-users on new systems.
In short, if you can straddle the worlds
of business and technology and feel at
home in both of them, you're bound to be a
great systems analyst.
