Business Office
Technology Certification Training
If you are intrigued by the possible
efficiencies that can be created in the
business office, or would like to be
versatile in using the many different
office technologies currently on the
market, keep on reading. Business office
technology careers should be broken up
into two separate categories.
The more common category includes people
employed as either information technology
specialists or administrative assistants
within a business office. These people are
required to understand and use all of the
current business technology employed in
their office, and be able to fix it if
problems arise.
The second category involves those working
for companies that create business office
technology. These people need to
understand the needs of the office worker,
and help create technology to help them
become more efficient.
Qualifications for Entry
For those in the first category, employers
often look for people with an office
technology certification, or an
associate's degree in computer science or
information technology. These types of
programs can be found at vocational
schools or through online distance
learning institutions.
Those in the second category, because they
actually need to create computer programs
and hardware, are often required to have
earned a bachelor or graduate degree in
computer science, and have a much deeper
knowledge of computer programming,
computer architecture, and network
management.
