Computer Technician
Certification Training Programs
Do you feel that everyone you know asks you
to help them fix their computer when it
gets a virus, runs out of memory, or
generally stops working properly? If you
are nodding, then you might as well find a
career that enables you to get paid to do
this type of work. People who fix
computers for a living are called computer
technicians, and they are needed just
about anywhere a computer can be found.
Computer technicians typically either work
at computer repair shops, or within a
company's IT department.
Qualifications for Entry
If you want to become a computer
technician, you will probably need to earn
some sort of computer science or technical
degree. Often, a two-year associate degree
in computer architecture or repair is all
that is necessary for an entry-level job.
Some companies will require more or less
education, depending on the job
responsibilities. Because this type of
work is much like a craft or learned
skill, quality programs will often help
students find internships at computer
repair shops or company IT departments.
