Telecommunications
Certification Training Programs
Are you looking to work in a field that
still has a lot of room to grow? Do you
enjoy working with systems and the way
they are constantly evolving and changing?
Are you fascinated by new fields, such as
wireless technology? If so, you might want
to look into a career in networking and
telecommunications. While these industries
have been around for quite some time, they
are starting to look and act much
differently than they did ten years ago.
The telecommunications and networking
industry has been focusing much of their
energies on rolling out wireless
communication in everything from phones to
office products. In America, we are still
at the beginning of this wireless trend,
and as more people adopt wireless
technology in their lives, networks will
get bigger and telecommunications
companies will grow.
Conventional networking has also changed
radically, with new kinds of switches,
load balancers, firewalls and intrusion
detection systems. You can specialize in
security, bandwidth, WANs, LANs, or be a
valuable jack-of-all-trades
generalist.
Qualifications for Entry
If you would like to enter the field of
telecommunications and networking, you
will probably need formal computer science
or network management education. Because
there are so many types of jobs in this
field, the level of degree you'll need
varies widely. For those who are looking
to work more in the field on network or
telecommunication maintenance and
installation, it is likely that an
associate's degree is all you'll need to
be qualified. For those looking to develop
new technologies, or work on the business
side of the industry, you'll probably need
a bachelor's degree and in some cases,
graduate degrees.
